Weekend Warrior – Sessions 1&2

Don’t Forget:

Below you’ll find the assignments for this week.

Sessions 1 & 2

Monday

(Math) Finish the Math practice test that was started during Math session on pg 22 of Boot Camp Manual (45-75 min)

  • Grade it with answers on pg 51 (explanations start on pg 58)
  • Re-work the problems you missed or found difficult. Only after you’ve re-worked them, use the Annotated Test explanations on pg 62 in Boot Camp Manual.

Tuesday

(Math) Work on “Problem Area Concepts” from Math Diagnostic Checklist (30 min)

  • If you’re using the 2022-2023 Red Book, visit https://torchprep.com/mathchecklist23b/
  • If you’re using the 2023-2024 Red Book, Visit https://torchprep.com/mathchecklist23/
  • Pick 4 concepts from your Math Diagnostic Checklist  you filled out after first 2 practice tests
  • For each concept . . .
    • Watch the instructional videos
    • Print and complete the KUTA worksheets
    • Work through the other ACT® problems for the first 2 practice tests

(Science & Math) Re-work/review mistakes practice tests for Science & Math

  • RE-WORKING missed problems and THEN reviewing explanations is the single most valuable activity you can do to improve your scores!!!
  • Re-work problems you missed, then watch the explanatory video for each of those questions
  • Click here to watch video explanations for questions from your first Red Book Math Test
  • Click here to watch video explanations for questions from your second Red Book Math Test.
  • Each Red Book test question has an explanatory answer in the back. Be sure to check out the explanatory answer for each question you missed. 

Wednesday

(Science) Complete Science test from pg 158 of Boot Camp Manual (45-75 min)

  • Timed at 35 minutes
  • Stay focused and use the Code Crackers™ as practiced during Science session for each separate type of passage
  • Review the answers and explanations starting on pgs 180 and rework questions you got incorrect

Thursday

  • (English) Work on “Problem Area Concepts” from English Diagnostic Checklist

  • If you’re using the 2023-2024 Red Book, visit https://torchprep.com/englishchecklist23/
  • Pick 4 concepts from your English Diagnostic Checklist
  • For each concept . . .
    • Read the Purdue OWL guided lesson
    • Print and complete the Purdue OWL OR Chomp Chomp worksheets
    • Work through the other ACT® questions for any tests you’ve completed for that concept
